International Higher Education (IHE) publishes insightful, informed, and high-quality commentary and analysis on trends and issues of importance to higher education systems, institutions, and stakeholders around the world.
Email submissions to [email protected] with the subject line “IHE Submission - [Last Name]”. Attach a single Word document containing the title, abstract, keywords, article, and author information.
Submit ArticleThe title must be clear, concise, and engaging.
Provide an abstract (50 to 75 words), a description for the online version of the article (280 characters or less), and 3-5 keywords.
Write for an informed international audience, providing context for country-specific issues. Use a clear, concise style with an accessible tone. Emphasize analysis over description.
Introduce the issue and its significance. Present key points supported by relevant data and research. Discuss implications for higher education in specific regions or contexts. Use a single level of short, capitalized subheadings.
Do not use numbered or bulleted lists, tables, figures, or footnotes. Minimize abbreviations; spell out on first use. Minimize hyperlinks and only use if they add significant value.
Do not use in-text citations or include a reference list. Briefly mention key sources within the text only if absolutely necessary, limiting them to those directly supporting your analysis. If the article is based on a document, article, or book by yourself, you may include the title and a link to the publication.
Please provide your name as you wish it to appear in the article, along with your title/position, institution, and email. Include your ORCID ID and/or social media if relevant. IHE does not generally include extensive biographical information.
Articles should be between 1,000 and 1,200 words, excluding abstract, keywords, and author information.
Articles should be prepared according to the Chicago Manual of Style. Use American English and refer to Merriam-Webster for usage guidelines.
Accepted articles are published under the CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 license, allowing free sharing provided appropriate credit to IHE as the original source.
