Internationalization of higher education

With the development of its internationalization policy in 2020, Ethiopia has joined the list of a number of African countries that have such a policy.

This article discusses the following questions: Who are the foreign academics in China? What motivates them to go and work there? What are their expected roles in local academia? Are they satisfied with their jobs? Are they going to stay in China? 

The number of degree programs and courses taught in English at Japanese universities has increased considerably over the past ten years. However, there are concerns about the sustainability of such programming.

COVID-19 is creating a broad-based crisis for higher education globally. Students and academic institutions in low-income countries and in less affluent parts of other nations will be especially affected.

This article argues that the boundaries of our knowing have been limited by a number of factors. I suggest a need to refocus on creating an alternate social imaginary of the internationalization of higher education through knowing differently.
