Internationalization is a multifaceted and evolving phenomenon, and its theories and definitions continue to be adjusted to match new and evolving understandings.

The New Education Policy 2020 (NEP 2020) encourages foreign education institutions to establish a presence in India and recommends setting up Indian institutions abroad. 

Anti-Blackness is a global and historical phenomenon, but the current racial awakening provides an important opportunity for higher education worldwide.

More attention to regional cooperation and a stronger focus on internationalization of the curriculum at home would allow these countries to break through the established paradigm.

Historically, Chinese culture has long excelled in incorporating elements from outside its borders, but has fallen relatively behind in reaching out to others. Such a disposition has left deep marks on the ways in which Chinese higher education interacts with the world.

Universities and national systems relying on international student enrollments for income are likely to suffer a significant blow. However, overall, it is likely that the broader trends of recent years will continue, but only after considerable disruption.
