Higher education enrollment rates in Central Asia are closely related to the level of privatization. The higher the degree of privatization, the higher the access to higher education.

China, Russia, and Turkey are “triangle” countries, since they form a geopolitical triangle to Central Asia's east north, and west. They have achieved considerable success in increasing their internaional sudent numbers.

The higher education systems of Central Asian countries have been rapidly impacted by global changes. New international universities and a high rate of student mobility are promising steps of internationalization in this landlocked region.
